A little ink in my Life

When I was about 7 years old, one of my uncle's invited my parents and I to his wedding in Washington DC. A very formal affair, my Mom spent a fortune buying me all these new dresses with matching sweaters and shoes (as is with these sort of events, and oddly enough childs clothing don' cost less than adults clothing), which obviously made me very ticked off, because at the time (and still today), I was a true tom boy at heart, so anything that had to do with shopping for girly attire, that included frill or pastel was to say the least, tantrum or rather sulk provoking.

So before the big day, all us ladies (big girls and not so big girls like myself) lunched at a very fancy schmancy restaurant with a long oak table. Needless to say, unbeknownst to my Mommy Dearest, that before we flew to Washington, DC to attend this rather pompous affair, I had pasted an enormous fake tattoo of a large angry looking Dragon spewing fire out of his mouth, directly onto my chest. I was truly proud of having a chest adorned with this amazing dragon tattoo and the fact that I was quite the rebel badass chick for choosing such a design (and the location, being my bony ribcage), I decided to expose myself to all the lunching ladies at the table, showing them, just who was the boss at this show. A few gasps erupted, my Mother almost fainted, however I thought that was the coolest moment that went down in all of history. So when I was approached by Swedish online store Fake Tattoo, I was of course thrilled to want to collaborate for the blog.

I chose a feather and some little itty bitty ones, especially since I have a thing for bunnies..

uh, no, not those bunnies..

..but the furry kind.

Since starting this semester, where I have been taking fine art classes, jewelry design in particular, sawing, burning, pinching and cutting have been just a handful of actions where my poor hands have suffered from. But in the end, the process is quite rewarding. So I haven't been very up to date with the blog lately, however due to my recent discovery for metal arts and jewelry making, I will be posting some previews of my work soon, where I will be selling my small pilot collection via Etsy for those who might be interested !

You can already add me to your circle on Etsy if you have an account here.

Daddyz Approved

So first off, I would like to take this opportunity to explain the happening which has occurred on top my skull. Unfortunately, I put too much trust in my hairdresser's. I say down with hairdresser's.

☞ Go to Walgreens and figure it out yourself.

Last friday afternoon I went to my most anticipated hair appointment, as I intended to go from white blond to dark. Coincidentally, I came out with bright purple hair, despite me asking for a dark brown with a shimmer of lavender. There was no shimmer. This was full on freak show. As my hair was a tad damaged due to all the bleaching, I thought it only fair to give my head a break for at least a year. Unfortunately, break time has been put on the back burner for now.

But alas, a victim of many hair preying demons over the years of my hair coloring/cutting experience, I have never in my lifetime walked out of a salon satisfied. The walk of shame to my local Walgreens proved fruitful in the end. I added brown to the whole, then bleached my tips for an ombre effect.

Herewith my latest 'do, a mix of pink and purple.

I'm excited to introduce you to my newest sponsor "Daddyz". An awesome online store featuring many designers who create detailed, offbeat tights, leggings and socks. As you know, a huge fan myself of throw-me-on-and-feel-like-you-have-nothing-on leggings, I was more than ecstatic to hear from Daddyz who kindly sent me these pale colored graphic design leggings by Latvian brand QooQoo. I have been a fan of the QooQoo brand since eyeing their lovely designs on Etsy, so of course I was more than grateful to try this pair on for size.

....And a happy happy Valentine's to you

Last night I was perusing the interesting videos on Stylelikeu, such as the sweet blogger Coury Combs from Fancy Treehouse or Nadia from FrouFrou.
✧✧✧

However, the video of American jeweler Betony Vernon who really caught my eye and ears. She is best known for her erotic jewelry. Very well spoken and easy on the eyes, she is quite the unique soul. I recommend you check her out.

Each piece is not only beautiful to wear and can be appreciated by anyone who enjoys her aesthetic for jewels, however they're also meant as sex toys.

Herewith a few of my favorites of her designs from her website.

And a little quote from Sleepless in Seattle...

♥ "When you're attracted to someone, it just means that your subconscious is attracted to their subconscious, subconsciously. So what we think of as fate is just two neuroses knowing that they are a perfect match" ♥

.....and a few funny ecards I thought would be necessary to share if you have nothing else better to do this Valentine's night...

Kudos if you were Born in the 80s

So I have finally gotten my hands on a pair of Miista shoes. The Batilda boot in brown to be specific. Miista shoes were created and founded by Laura Villasenin, a native of Northern Spain, transplant to Hackney, London where the brand resides. The brand, as Laura puts it is "In a world that has become cluttered with similarities, carbon copies and conventional styles, Miista brings an uncommon beauty to the street". And this does ring true, as a blogger immersed in the abundance of fashion splattered all over the internet world, it is difficult to see the trees through the forest and come across other promising brands. We seem to be saturated with just a select few, but alas there are more options out there for us to explore.

These three words define the Miista brand perfectly :
"Full-bodied – robust and bold features
Crafted – thoughtful and with unexpected details
  Elegance – for headstrong women"

Miista features chunky heels and platforms, thick durable leather and buckles too, all adhering to a motorcycle riding, black death cigarette smoking, leather wearing image of a true badass female but with a touch of sleek refinement.
I ordered the Batilda boot in a size eur39 which is a size US8, as the brand seems to run a bit small. I say they run small as I tend to wear a eur38 at times, but in this case as is with a lot of european designers, a eur39 would be equal to a US8.
Speaking like the true whiner that I am when it comes to anything obstructing my comfort, the Batilda is overall very comfy and easy to walk in due to the hidden platform and chunky heel which seems to empower your stride as you walk by.

Herewith a few of my personal favs from the Miista online shop..

Miista shoes have their own names, as if giving each one their own unique character, making them exceptional and exquisite.

Oh and by the way, speaking of shoes, have you guys heard of the Dolce Vita free shoe giveaway ? DV is giving away 1,000 pair of shoes over the next 30 days.

Be sure to enter soon to win a free pair.

Yours truly sure did, first time ever winning a contest feels pretty good I must say..

My pair landed on my front porch this morning, I felt like a 5 year old all over again, giggling and jumping up and down.
It was quite the sight to see

For todays ensemble, The Lost Boys versus Cyndi Lauper versus Mara Rooney in The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo come to mind.

This awesome 80's Wilson leather jacket comes from a friend I happened to make via Ebay (potential friendships lie in the most unsuspecting of places). She thought I would appreciate this gem from her closet, and yes, I sure do.
So thanks Anna !
